Well i can understand that countries like russia or greek do still have mandatory service. I think @Kieyra that lot of countries share your feeling, so most of countires around here disbanded mandatory service long ago(and now most of us have no functional army ). That's why i empatize with guys below, because 12 months is so long :/

@sazzy3 damn that's long. most of the countries around here in europe went from 2 years - 1 year - 9 months - 6 months, and then they got cancelled at all

@dankho Since 2009, Greece has mandatory military service of 9 months for the Army and 12 months for the Navy and the Airforce.
